I posted something briefly in the chat box but I'll put it in here just in case anyone missed it:

If you are interested in a long term position volunteering (yes I know thats NO PAY), with a local Austin railroad, which can open the doors to other potential paid opportunities, let me know!

We train folks to operate actual locomotives and its official and all, tests, etc. Legit. It is hard work, very hard tests that sometimes take multiple times to pass, and a lot of free manual labor to the RR.

I enjoy it, there area also onboard opportunities to work as crew members in the restored railroad passenger cars. In exchange for volunteer services ride vouchers are given out along with a handful of other perks.

Anyway, this isn't for everyone but I figured someone might be interested along the way and I will bump the thread from time to time.

Later!

What is the name of the program? Do you need any previous qualifications? Drug test? Is it still going on? I'm really interested

this was originally posted four years ago so i doubt it's still available.
