Been off the site for a few years but I'm back, what's up all, 10+ year traveling/homesteading got a bit of land and house in taos country if anyone is passing thru.
After visiting with friends in Mission, BC my travel partner ditched me, spending the last of his money on a bus ticket home. Probably for the best after he polished off my 15 pack while I was out gathering firewood the previous night. I spent...

It was a tough situation, I was in a public park and just had to play it cool. I learned something valuable from this altercation. Whenever visiting a new town, it pays dividends to learn the name of the County and research interesting facts...

What does it take to resist in absolutely futile and overwhelming situations? This book recounts resistance actions of prisoners inside German World War II concentration camps, those who resisted against impossible odds because the human spirit...
This is very helpful thank you! Do you have any experience with the Carpathian mountains? When I go to Romania I want to explore ancient ruins like its D&D minus the pillaging obviously. Are there lots of those in Romania?
Also, where can i find...

I bought a bike when I was in Colombia, and that was less stressful than flying my fullsize bike into the US, but it was definitely a yuppie move because packing it in is still cheaper unless you have the time or patience to find an amazing deal...

I realize there are many factors, but I'd be curious what your instincts tell you about your folding bike experience vs buying/selling a used bike when you arrive at & depart from your longer distance destinations?
Quick update on this. I've now had the bike for about 6 months, although all of that time i have been housed up and not traveling full-time. However, each weekend i put 50-100km on the bike doing various round trips near home, and i have taken it...

Less gear for sure. Sleeping bag, tarp, bivy, cook stove/pot. Enough. Honestly mostly I don't even use my stove but sometimes it's nice.
I'm phone reliant so now I have like 2-3 phone charger chords in case I loose one.
Everywhere kinda sucks...
