Knife or Multi tool, what do you carry on your belt, or in your pack?

me favorite knife. just 20 bucks, carbon steel, close to 5mm strong blade. easy to sharp and stays sharp.

I like a simple, lightweight multi (Gerber by preference). Basic functions with a file and saw.

Then a cheap blade (folding, aprox. 4 inches), for prying, whittling, keeping in my boot at night, and probably losing every couple years.

You could do both but as long as you aren't relying on your knife for defense, or doing something like fire/wood craft, just a multitool like that in a pack should be all you need.
