So ive heard alot of the same drugs up here you need a script for you need one down there in mexican pharmacies as well but i heard some slip through, like you can get Klonopin and Xanax without a perscription in Pharmacies down there for WAY cheaper than up here.....any thoughts, experiences? Thanks.

If I remember correctly, the pharmacists down there can prescribe and it is a very informal process. It is quite likely that if you attempt to enter the U.S. with these pharmaceuticals without declaring them you are risking imprisonment. If you declare them, it is likely they will be seized. I don't mind taking chances, but walking across the border with a "rattling ass" does not appeal to me.

Kinda unrelated but when I was younger a friend of mine was telling me about a church trip he took with a youth group to somewhere in Mexico. Apparently when these kids finally got free time they all fanned out to the head shops and pharmacies where my buddy got 15 10mg vicodins. On the way back he got paranoid about bringing the pills across the border so he gave 2 to a friend and downed the rest. Needless to say he OD'd in the church van in line at the border crossing and was rushed to a hospital by or in San Diego somewhere. He got his stomach pumped and survived. Guess those church kids are pretty square until you set em loose in good ol Tijuana haha

Yes phamaceuticals are much easier to get in Mexico than they are here.
But in my opinion using that just to get(speaking in general, not directed at anyone) loaded on pills & tequila is pretty
fucking stupid, but some Americans treat the Mexican pharmacies like candy stores... sigh...
As someone with no health insurance, I would be more concerned with getting some stuff that I might need down there.
Like an antibiotic and some anti-malaria meds to have on hand...
I have nothing against anyone getting high on pharms if that's their thing.
I just find it much better to keep my head straight in Mexico and not be drunk or high. A bottle of tequila is not a
bad idea though, a couple shots with a meal might lessen any chances of getting sick? I never said that I don't drink down
there, I just don't get drunk down there. My near arrest down there has taught me it is better to stay somewhat sober
while in Mexico.
And by all means I would certainly talk to the pharmacist about my travel needs and concerns(depending on your
Spanish or their English) which antibiotic they think is best, what areas of the country do they recomend anti-malaria meds, etc.

WARNING: Be wary of taking the anti-malaria med Mefloquine aka Lariam.
This drug can really fuck some people up mentally! For some people the side effects are like... mescaline gone wrong!

On the road in Texas...
My husband works with truckers and they often have pills for sale from Mexico that are bought cheaply from pharmacists without a doctor visit. One trucker got cheap viagra and it was extra potent in a bad way.

Be safe!

Everyman, I'm not sure if you are Native American or if it is just your avatar that is. If you are Native, be aware that many Natives have GAD (generalized anxiety disorder). You don't have to travel far for relief. Better to get an assessment and understand what you're dealing with. Like many things, it only seems worse than it is:)

To the OP: Been hanging around the border and it's easier than you could possibly imagine. Not only is it a fraction of the price, but they pay guys to sit on stools out front and holler at you, asking if you need any Xanax or Wellbutrin or whatever. It's not undercover at all. Just like buying bananas at the store. Only thing that's hard to get across the border is PKs.

As for RXs....a friend of mine went in to one in Nogales and tried to buy some xanax. The lady said he needed a prescription and he said, "Oh, damn. Thanks anyway," and she said, "No, no, just talk to that guy" and pointed to a guy in a lab coat in the corner of the store hahahaha. Wrote one out and he walked 5 feet back to the counter. No problems.

so if you get a doctor in mexico to prescribe you something is that prescription "recognized" in the US? like is it legal for you to take across the border and possess in the US?

Good question. I'd be surprised -- I'm pretty sure the power to write prescriptions is given by the AMA, which Mexican doctors would be categorically excluded from.

The show you're thinking of is called Drugs Inc., great fucking show.

In that episode we learn that yes, you can get a prescription from a mexican doctor and as long as you have a legit prescription slip you will be able to transfer your pills across the border.

LOL you're right about that. I think everyone's got a dangerous xanax story or two. Anyone who ever drank on it, anyway.

Crazy about the transfer though - Didn't know the prescriptions worked in America.

I really do not know anyone who uses Xanax to get high, but plenty people who get from doc but "need" more buy them on the street. In Japan it is given out like candy to housewifes, kids, etcbut its only 0.4,i do not think we even have that small dose in usa.But they are 2cents each in japan. Is there not anything natural that does the same thing(besides weed)?
