I did some research on the molle frames and generation 4 seems really tough. The three before are absolute crap. A man at 200+ froze the frame then jumped on it in attempts to break it. It didn't. I've got it now and will see how it holds up.
Thank you for that. I'm a bit wary about all the paperwork you usually have to go through at shelters. Are all shelters strict (not saying that they shouldn't be)? Would it be easier to get a dog off the 48 hour list than a no-kill shelter? Also are there any areas in the US where yr more likely...
I already know what yr going to say. Bad fucking idea.
Background: She's 8 years old and a total house dog. She currently has a bad foot (swollen and vet can't figure it out) and limps because of it. She does have some dog aggression issues but has been doing A LOT better since I've started...
Basically I'm looking to see whY ya'all travel and live yr lives like this? I am not asking in a condescending way but rather curious to if everyone has a core reason for travelling or if it just varies for everyone. Also it could good for inspiration for others.... to hear stories of such...
im thinking about just using the patrol and bivvy and getting another small / cheap sleeping bag for when the temps do dip. the weight / lack on compactness of the intermediate isnt going to be fun and i doubt i will be venturing into cold areas at the cold times of the year. thanks for the tips.
just did some research on molle frames and the newest one that just came out isnt too bad apparently: http://www.zombiehunters.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=39804. someone froze the frame and jumped their 200+ self on it and it still didn't snap? not too bad.....
doest he IBLE / ACU bags take...
Well I just poured through the whole backpack section here all morning and still cannot figure out which pack would be best for me. The ALICE packs tend to pop up a lot. My buddy has a medium and I tried it out, it is really fucking bulky (not sure if it's because he has a ton of shit strapped...
I'm about to get one of the military sleeping bags, what do you think of it now that a few months has passed? Was it worth carrying the extra bulk of the black bag or did you end up ditching it? a buddy of mine offered to buy the black bag off of me and I would keep the bivvy and patrol bag and...
is the sport canvas also known as duck canvas? i'm having a pretty hard time finding the sport canvas online, not sure if it is due to the lack of sleep or else.. but if you don't mind, can you/someone link me to some places i can find it online? danke.
I'm looking at the pros and cons of each and would like for you guys to throw me yr input. So far I know that synthetic is cheaper and dries out quicker while down is much lighter and warmer but takes ages to dry out. So what do you guys prefer? Down or synthetic sleeping bags?
A-fucking-men. And yeah, balancing the whole job thing with travelling is pretty tough so far. I bet it doesn't get any easier with age. I was looking into the whole blogging thing - there's a lot of travelling bloggers who literally travel off the money they make from their blogs. Seems pretty...
bryanpaul - thank you! that's a great idea. i'm pretty lucky to even have this option in the first place, i just need some time to figure out stuff.
matt pist - i'm eighteen and i only have a month of travelling under my belt. i'm not not even close to being experienced / exhausted by...
I was at the rainbow gathering in tn earlier this year and hitch hiked my way back home. It was fun + now I am stuck here. I wanted to get back to travelling but the boy i'm with doesn't want to be on the road during the winter. we are both jobless and living off my father, something that...
For those who don't know what's going on here:
This sounds absolutely incredible. I'll have to see what I can do to get me, my boy and pups down there. How doable is it to drive there from NY?
welcome! i recommend you check out a rainbow gathering someplace, you will find a lot of hitch hikers, train hoppers, punks etc + many of them are friendly and willing to give you advice or even take you along for a ride. good luck.
see? it's possible. sorry about yr little quail guy though.
and hydrogen is flammable, as is gasoline. in fact, in my research, i keep reading that hydrogen is less flammable than gasoline. not sure if this is true though.

my rowing coach didn't know that i was deaf until my mother told him three weeks into the season and he was pretty suprised..... for those of you who doubt my normal-ness
i don't see my deafness as a handicap. the only 'problem' with me is that i can't hear and i'm still able to function and behave normally, whatever normal is. handicap is kind of an offensive word since the dictionary considers it to be a disadvantage (when really its nice to sleep like a...
i'm not going to have the the rats with me since i'm allergic to them. i have taken the 'squish' and weather factor in consideration. i'm just brainstorming here, seeing if it may be a good idea or not. which is why i brought it up here (surely someone else must have thought of this too - and...
i already have a pair of rats and they love to scratch the fuck out of my neck + make me itchy and red (allergic) plus they just had babies. (anybody want a rat?)
the hand fed babes are the best, it's just a matter of finding one that isn't over a hundred bucks. a monkey would be badass!
i'm...
i'm talking 'getting a volkswagen that runs on water and driving around the country a bunch of times and doing whatever the fuck happens' kind of traveling. i'd have the bird in a harness and on a leash at all times. she'd sleep tucked in my neck. when it's too cold, she'd be folded in my...
yr pup sounds like a sweetheart who needs a lot of work. the key to getting a dog to be less aggressive is lots and lots of exposure and patience. did you just get her recently? almost sounds like it the way you describe yr relationship with her.
first she needs to know that she can absolutely...
ya - i'm still trying to choose between film and digital.
it would be awesome to stick with film since i love the look film has as well as the control/sometimes lack of control during the processing but it is expensive as fuck! plus how can i process while on the road? i could ask around for...
I was 18 and am 18. I've only been on the road for a month baha. It's easier to be lonely when yr deaf too. Having a road dog to teach you the ropes is grand.
Have an emergency back-up plan in case things go drastically wrong (emotional-wise) like call someone close to you or something idk...
so i was on the road for just over a month. dude, time flies out there yet at the same time, it feels like a lifetime. a different kind of a lifetime. got from ny to tennessee - chilled at the rainbow for roughly 3-4 weeks (some guy fell in love with me there and ended up following me home) -...
I personally went on the road for very similar reasons as yours. i suffer depression and anxiety. One big thing you need to ensure before you go on the road is this: can you take care of yourself, emotionally? Or do you depend on others to help you out? You are going to find yourself very, very...
basically why I'm asking this is because my dad, as supportive and wonderful as he is, wants to know WHY I want to live this kind of lifestyle. at this point he doesn't care about the who or where anymore because he knows that I will do it regardless.
I try to explain to him the thrill and...
I'm genuinely curious as to why everyone is traveling, nomad-ing, vagabonding, hitching, hopping and whatnot. Everyone seems to have their own reason whether it be personal issues, the government or whatever. Tell me why yr doing this. I'm curious.
I'm sitting in Panera dying for a cup of coffee because it's been almost 5 days since I've gone without a good old cup of joe. Yeah, I'd like to know too.
well then they don't delete accounts. so suck it up, go swallow some cum and just log the fuck off. pinky promise the douche that you won't come back. like someone else said..... yr here for good. :D
Yeah, I've given it some more thought and got in an accident today. looks like I'm probably not getting a vehicle anymore. It's just too much investment into something that I'll be abandoning, like you said. thank you so much for yr help, really appreciate it man.
many thanks to you man. being eighteen may mean that i'm legal but it sure as hell doesn't mean i'm an adult yet. i know i'm still young and naive and that i've got a long ways to go. will definitely test the waters first to see how it goes. i know it's a scary big world but i don't want to be...
I've been unstable for five years even on their medication. In the past week I've refused the medication and I've been more stable than I've ever been. It is very dangerous to do such a thing, yet I got so fed up. Five years of this shit. And I'm doing alright, despite all their attempts to...
