theres so many bums / crackheads out there i would avoid anything under stairs by a trail. if you have a tarp you can sleep virtually anywhere in any weather. whenever im in spokane im not there to be in spokane but to switch to junk, wbd or east, and just stand my pack up against something sturdy near the hopout, anchoring the tarp over it — anywhere decent away from trails and bridges.

not bc spokane is all that dangerous but bc the further away from nighttime foot traffic the better the sleep

South Hill can be mixed at times. Sometimes the baseball dugouts are fine, other times they're patrolled every few hours. I've noticed some people near the Target up there, but unless you like sleeping near cell towers, that's a no-go. If up North, you can at times luck out near Trent, but anything near division tends to be woken up at all hours. Don't be like the bums near Dicks though, a lot of them seem to cause trouble for the ones who are good people and aren't just looking for their next fix. I have a few friends who are partial to country vista area, but honestly the liberty lake area off the trail is a better bet. Just don't get caught near the bus station out there behind Safeway, cops tend to beat up sleepers sadly. During the day, try and get some shuteye way out in what I call Irish Springs (the mountains southeast of Liberty Lake, which looks a lot like the Irish hills in Ireland to me). Almost all of the valley is a shitshow imo. Otis Orchards just plain stinks. Just my 14 cents.
