Well my day started with my loosing my favorite (only) beanie, already a rough start:eek:, but on my way walking home I looked in a ditch and saw a dirty black beanie just laying there. One good wash later and I have a new beanie::woot::... I guess you loose some, you find some!
What clothes have you guys found on your travels?

In Greece, after the summer hordes have left, you can find so many tents, clothes, cooking gear, tooons of food, etc. I spent a week on one beach eating for free, and had my pick of a mountain of various items of clothing. Ended up taking some hiking shirt with a bunch of pockets, left the rest :p

I have a pretty sweet corduroy blazer I found sitting on top of a dumpster. I get compliments on it every time I wear it and enjoy people's reaction when I tell them where it came from. :)

The road she giveth and the road she taketh!

I found a pair of birkenstocks at the dump once. And a kick ass black bandana on the side of the road too, nice and weathered.

HA I found a whole set of clothes, Dickies, torn black shirt, even underwear, next to a dumpster displayed out nicely to look like a person laying on the ground. Got a nice new outfit! (yes I left the underwear there) :)

I've been off the road for a few years now but last time I was out trimming in NorCal I found a sweet ass green bandanna behind Manfredis on my way to the hop out in Dunsmuir.

A while back I was in Ann Arbor and I got in a fight and had to ditch my shirt. It was the middle of summer so I was happy to be shirtless, but I walked past this guy with a sick wolf shirt and I said something to the effect of "hey man, cool fucking shirt" and he took it off and threw it to me like a boss.

I found an old pair of red wings boots. They were well worn in but became my everyday work boots for 4 years.

Its funny how simple things we can randomly find can embed themselves into our lives for years to come. Something someone else threw out or lost can become a part of us. My first memory of finding something was while visiting Waikiki as a kid, even at the age of 8 I was a bit of a scavenger always searching as I walked for discarded goods, on a wall there was a black spinning ring that blended into the rocks so well I almost didn't see it. I snagged it and it hasn't left me since. Of course its switched some fingers a I grew up and got bigger..

I musta been a freshman or sophomore in HS... found a crisp 100$ in the theater parking lot walking to school... fuck yea... paid for smokes and booze for two weeks. (back when us young shits could only party on the weekends)

That is cool.

Ann Arbor never been there and I kinda nixed the place on my list cuz someone moved there without telling me... drama, but they are somewhere else now and ... eh at least back in touch a few times.

Might check it out... Ann Arbor does sound pleasant like a fucking tv sitcom after all..
Always wanted to hang out with the Keatons on Family Ties.

Were those "Made in America" Redwings? ... my pair are not bad but even with my shitkicking them they are a bit more beat up then I heard they used to be... that is they used to be even tougher...

Still not bad boots. But I plan to research for the next pair whenever.

I found a rain coat near Petersburg behind an W'awful House before I caught a ride to Florida once, and I kept it all the way to Dallas before I left it for someone else. It saved my butt several times when I had no rain gear... I also found a legit wool shirt once in Butte, but it died in Tallulah after a fight with some strong detergent at a truck stop

Well, I did find some things on the streets ... a few baseball caps, scarfs, gloves ... the best find I guess was a pair of Timberland boots in mint condition. (Rarely wear them cause I don't like boots, but I still have them just in case.)

A friend of mine is much better in finding stuff but she is walking around more in residential areas than me.

I got some things (including hoodies, pants, etc) from searching bags left outside of charity shops (as @wizehop mentioned). I have no ethical problem with that as long as you're not trespassing. I mean, the bags were literally on the street and a sign at the shop was asking people *not* to leave bags outside. So what? ;)

Actually most of my stuff I got from individuals or food runs coming to me and asking if I might need something.

Last week for example I sat in a doorway with a friend and a guy turned up and dumped a trash bag full of good clothes in front of us, saying "take care, guys" and left. We gave away most of it to other people in need cause we had enough and couldn't carry all the stuff around.

So the road provides. :)
