New Orleans?

Me and my ol' lady are headed out towards California in October, starting in NC. We were curious about New Orleans, but I'm under the impression that the post-Katrina rail systems are pretty fucked up down there. Is this the case? I've been told it's a good town to squat in, but a horrible town to hop in.

Any advice? N.O. isn't a priority on this trip, but I've love to check it out, if feasible.

most of the railroads in the new orleans area are fine now. railroad wise, it's back to the way it was pre-katrina.

if you stop by there, hit me up. ill probably be back there by october.

Well, that's damn good to know. I'm hoping our pre-Katrina CCG and atlases will still apply to the state/city's current and previous conditions.

And Matt, we'll definitely hit you up while we're/you're down there. I'm hoping all the tales I hear of the art collectives of New Orleans are true, because if they are, we'll probably be there for a long while.

I am going to New Orleans next month most likely, anyone have any recommendations for things to check out/places to go/ruins to call my home? May be there for quite awhile...

I'll be getting into NOLA the 16th. Need to find a squat and good people to hang out with. I'll be there at least a few weeks. Might be staying for months though.
