Hello everyone, I'm Syd(ney). I'm 18 (19 in March), living in Texas. I'm not from Texas, I ended up here through a series of fucked up events. But I'm probably going to be here until I get out of school.

When I was in highschool (in western Mass., where I grew up) I always envisioned myself traveling and squatting for a while before heading off to college. However things changed, and that's no longer an option. Now I feel kind of 'stuck' until I graduate and pay off my loans. I still have dreams of letting go and living though - once I'm sure collecting agencies won't be coming after me!:p

I'm at UTA right now (in Arlington, TX). I'm moving to San Antonio in May to live with my sister. Then I'm moving to Austin after this upcoming school year. I'll hopefully be living in a co-op there until I graduate.

other things about me: I love physics, animals, and music. I try to play guitar. I enjoy baking. I wish I had a traveling buddy (I would have one if I were still in Massachusetts - I miss my best friend!:cry:). I love bike riding, dumpster diving, and being around nice people.

labels I've procured over the years: bi/"pan"-sexual, genderqueer/tomboi, crust punk (someone also said I was "hobo-core"...whatever that means), shy, freakishly quiet, afropunk, vegan, queer,

Well welcome to StP! Random questions, because I'm nosy and curious:

Where in western Ma? I grew up on the South Shore, halfway between the cape and boston.

What're you studying over/down there in Tx?

Physics? Anything in particular ::IRhugenerd::

hello, syd(ney)

so that's like sort of the kind of situation im in.
but im not sure to 'stay and finish out' here in (or if i go) columbia college, major in writing, graduate after 4 years, move on, and then everyones' happy. by everyone it's my parents, aunts, and grandparents. i don't consider myself as one of 'everyone'. education is not sumthing i feel strongly about. i could care less about a 'great benefit high paying career' and the government. i just want to travel and write, nothing else. haha.

but...HI!!!=D

ah yes. I think once I have a degree, my stepmom (who's helped me get back on my feet) will be happy, and then I can go on and be happy. I'd like college a lot more if it didn't cost so fucking much. :(

Physics? That's a plus, it's good to have some knowledge that most people don't have!

and fun! :)

Amherst. My best friend is now in Worcester, though. If I ever move back up there, I'll def. be on the east coast - Amherst/Northampton is great, but I spent enough time there.

I'm majoring in changing my major. :) Right now I'm undeclared (after being a physics major during my 1st semester). I'm considering Nutritional sciences a) because I'm interested in nutrtion and b) so I can graduate as a registered dietician and pay my debt off (if you can't tell - debt scares me. I've seen both my mom and my older sister get screwed over because of it)

Physics? Anything in particular
I'm especially interested in theoretical physics. of course M-theory and any possibility of a unified theory excites me to no end.

None taken! I'm often mistaken for being a 14 year old, haha. I'm used to it though, because when I was 14, people thought I was 9.

ha, yeppers.
well i guess life shouldn't be much about making other people happy other than yourself.=]

very true!
