I remember seeing some posts about alcohol stoves on here a while ago. Here's something that talks about ways to make a windscreen for them that doubles as a woodstove.

I have recently found out that these shields/holders work really well with the beer can alcohol stoves.

or google lanny hanson.. these are the best stoves I've seen yet... he's got a 2 coffee can stove I'm gonna make when I get back in the woods
they're based on fuel efficiency.. so if you've got tons of wood to burn.. this isn't your stove.
