It's pretty easy to keep your dog on a high-protein/grain-free diet for free if you're in largely populated areas; especially if you're traveling. Dog boutiques are everywhere; I stop at almost every one and ask for samples or ripped bags. There are also PetSmart, Petco, Pet Food Express, etc...
