apparently home depot sells rechargeable pocket warmers. but they never have them when/where i go looking. but yeah hands that arent dead numb is nice, right. so i stock up on pocket warmers before they sell out everywhere.

coveralls, baclavas/masks, and thermal underwear are all essentials whenever im out in the cold months.

two sleeping pads to buffer. lots of cardboard beneath it when available. your jacket/layers youre not wearing when it isnt. sometimes, if not on the train, ill cut down folliage from nearby shrubs to layer onto the ground first. anything to get that nice two inches or so of spacing from the permafrost.

a tarp, if strung up right, can always provide cover from the wind factor when necessary.

tldr; coveralls.
