I've been stationary in/around Albany NY all summer where I grew up...I work weird hours, sometimes split shift kinda stuff, so I've spent the rest of the time killing time...watching trains, exploring bandos, hiking and biking, and helping out travelers as I can.
Here's some of what I've been up to from May 28 til now:
There's some bando units and passenger cars at this siding. My friend's recently passed mom (RIP) clued me into this spot.
Some Canadian grain strings kickin around, too
Hikin' near where I grew up but at a place I'd never been
Waterfalls galore in upstate ny:
I lifeguarded for a movie with a scene with a fake drowning.....
.....made a ton of cash for just 2 hours of work. They paid for my gas and tolls to get there, too
Stopped to ride my bike on the way back from that gig:
And stopped to foam at Selkirk (which is a recurring theme from my summer):
Caught more than a few sunrises like this one while driving to my 5am pool shifts:
And some amazing sunsets by nightfall!
Biked down a path that ends up crossing the traxx. Used to ride it as a kid. Never realized there's an active yard there!
And this poor derailed hopper became one of my new chill spots!
More trainz......
and more hot, humid Selkirk chillz:
The Hudson River
The Hudson Valley!
Deer!
Partial signage........
The best swim spot in upstate ny:
I took a friend biking, she hadn't biked in like 8 years.....she did great!
A hike that features ruins of a hotel that never got finished:
Bando'd and partially washed away Ulster & Delaware train bridge:
Some friends from college came into town and I brough them to the Peace Pagoda, where I used to hang out a lot in high school:
Bando:
Bando trainzzz:
Traxxx:
Aaaaaand an overnight at one of my favorite spotz in the Catskills:
Sooooo there's my past 3 months! I hit the road in 28 dayz so stay tuned for more pics and stories in the future
