Hey!

I thought I might introduce myself here as well! I'm known as K. (or how some friends call me "Der Kaiser", just because that's the only thing they know about Germany o_O), as I am German what apparently is quite a rarity in this forum! I did quite a bit of traveling in the last years... hitched around in Europe, hitched across Canada and did some hopping as well but just a few times. Explored New Zealand in the last 6 months and now I'm hitching my way around Australia.

I'm interested in alternative lifestyles and well, for me it's kind of the true travel spirit. So far it is all about traveling!
Hope to meet some of you guys in the future and who knows... maybe somebody of you picks me up while hitchhing in the states!? :p

Cheers,
K.

The name "Der Kaiser" is a little disturbing but I'll try not to pass judgment untill you've had time to explain yourself. How did you get that name? Anyone called "the emperor" concerns me but maybe I'm just not current on modern German. Not very many folks from outside the states in here, but there are a few. Welcome to stp!

Haha, no... since I was called just K for a long time some friend in New Zealand started to call me Kaiser. I found it funny. But yeah you're right... it is disturbing. Sorry.
K stands for my sir name. K is cool, too.
Edited the first post that people don't get me wrong. Thanks for the very obvious hint. :p

Well it is indeed a long way from anywhere! It's wonderful man... good people, good climate. The fuckin animals are a pain in the ass though... you really have to care alot about where to sleep and where to take a shit in the outdoors.

Hitchhiking is awesome so far and despite all the stories about the HH killings in the last years people are pretty keen to pick you up, even though it's illegal in the entire country.

Two goals I still have to achieve... 1. HH to Perth, the most out of the way city in the world. o_O and 2. I would love to hop a train through the Outback to Alice Springs, exploring the Ayers Rock and then hopping further North to Darwin. But I haven't met any hoppers here so far and I don't really know where to start. Think about just hanging out at the yard in Adelaide and hope to get more information about what's going on.

Their history is also brutal and tragic.
Consider cashing in on your own attractions, instead of making bucks on over-developed Cambodian land.
