Retired Muppet
Hey guys, this is my first post so bear with me...
I'm 49, a retired road muppet from years back, and I decided to go back to college after a ridiculous 25 years trying to be an honest newspaper journalist. So, I am in school now as a psych major with the master-blaster plan of starting a non-profit that helps traveling kids find empowerment, be safe, and thrive. The goal is to infuse art therapy and photography and some kinda newspaper production knowledge, maybe to start a network of punk journalism?
Anyway, I need to spend some co-op time working with a non-profit in or near Eugene, Oregon. My first choice is R.A.D. (Radical Alternative Development), but I need a couple of backup orgs just in case I can't connect with RAD. I really want to work somewhere legit and independent - trying to avoid placements like NAMI and White Bird, who just let their best staff go and cut programs.
Any suggestions or input is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!!
