haha, i was thinking, wondering, hoping, that someone out there that's going to the jambo (or someone in the slabs) knows how to tattoo semi-decently?

I have a stupid-easy cover up i want done on my wrist (three thick black lines) and if i could find someone to do it, I figure i could buy a cheap tattoo set online and then other people could get tats too.

might be a ridiculous idea, but we did it a few years back when i lived at east jesus, you just have to tattoo in an RV or something so you're not doing it outside. despite it being a cheap kit, it did a pretty good job.

anyways, just an idea, if anyone has the skill.

Welllll, these did just show up in my mailbox. The only stick n poke I've done is delightfully janky though so I was hoping there might be some more skilled practitioners in attendance. :D

I've found it helps a lot to have a friend hold the area to be tatted taught, it prevents bleeds & shaky lines. The first time I did it to myself I didn't know that and it had to be cleaned up. Regardless of whether or not you go machine congratulations on your future ink / cover up! Wish I could make it to the gathering but I'll be thinking about yall from the south.

awww :p

we'll post some pics and vids afterwards so you can at least see what you missed.

You can just get tattoo needles online in bulk ($8 for like 500 I think?) and use them for stick & poke. Thats generally what I do for myself, its so easy & nearly painless, plus clean up for a machine is a pain in the ass.

true, but what i want requires a decent amount of black work; i tried to have someone do that with a single needle once and it not only took forever but just came out horribly.

Hi ya'll, I'm headed out to the Jambo today and I happen to be traveling with a... drumroll... tattoo artist working on a tattoo documentary. She'll have the supplies to do stick and poke but no tattoo machine. Contact us for more info or meet up instructions!
