    help with a sound

Not sure where to post this. I'm in the outer banks, sleeping on the beach, and there is a beautiful, high pitched ringing sound, like a finger going round a wine glass, coming from the ocean. It's pretty windy. Has anyone ever heard this or know what it is/ is causing it?

    r.i.p. Container Charlie

You will be sad to know that Charlie died of a heart attack. To anyone who ever visited him out in the slabs, it would be immediately apparent that Charlie was an original, hard worker and highly intelligent. I also came to regard him as highly sensitive, in the best sense of the word. He will...

Some of you are familiar with the site Digihitch.com, and may know that the founder is a traveller and all-around great guy named Morgan (Salman). Morgan was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer last July and since then, he's incurred some pretty serious medical bills. Anyone in the Phoenix area...

    sleep with 3 eyes open

this is kind of a poll, I looked for a poll making function but didn`t see it. I just had a really terrible nights sleep in some bushes in Cusco, Peru. I got into town really late and people told me I`d get jumped and to stay off the streets. Nothing happened, but I couldn`t really sleep...

hard times up on big rock candy mountain

wondering who the original version was by and what year it was written, I checked out wikipedia, and discovered the harsh reality. check this out: The 2008 extended adaptation for children by Gil McLachlan tells the story as a child's dream, the last stanza being: In the Big Rock Candy...

There's a Whisper down the line

Part 1 Whisper had signed on with the United States military, or maybe he’d been drafted by selective services, I can’t remember. An apt candidate, he’d been trained extensively and sent to Vietnam as a Ranger, position of exciting albeit horrifying consequence. He weathered missions and...

    evil

drunkish post, I don't feel like I get very drunk, just more somber the more I drink, except gin which makes me more violent or too much of anything which makes me stick my finger down my throat so I can get on with the next day. Anyway, there was a girl here tonight who was some sort of...

    dear Alena (central america)

Im first mate on the good ship Samsara, floating in a postcard off the Caribean coast of Panama. The Kuna Indians paddle their dugouts close and show off lobsters, coconuts and embroidered clothes to the bikini clad Swiss girls and hungover Brits, whom it is my job to entertain when the caprain...

    feeling hostel

holy cow, staying a couple days in a hostel can make you jaded. Listening to all these sandal-wearing folks talk about how much money they've spent on their world tours is weird, and makes me feel very elitist. Maybe its that two of my ex girlfriends/best friends got laid for the first time...

    syncopated circadian rhythm

I think maybe there aren't enough hours in the day for me, like my natural circadian rhythm would be about 17 waking hours and 8-9 hours of sleep. 17+9=26, so I can never find a routine that suits me, I go to bed later and later every morning, until once every week or two, I don't bother...

    intro extro

hi. I am a dude and a brother and maybe a sister too (only one set of genitalia though). I am still kind of young in my own mind. I meant age wise, but if you want to read that as "emotionally immature" you wouldn't be too far off a fairly common assessment of my character. I get carried away...
