REI GARAGE SALES

Best place to get gear if ya don't wanna steal, or don't wanna risk stealing large items.
I went to one of REI's quarterly garage sales (almost every REI has one), and got:

A $200 2013 "Mars 80" internal frame backpack (80L?) - got it for $60.
A $80 "Polar Pod" sleeping bag (it's fuckin green too) - got it for $30.
A $30 cotton sleeping bag liner - $8
A $100 "Big Agnes" ground pad with ONE SMALL LEAK - $5...

Blown away, usually sales are bullshit but this was pretty great. You can call REI's and ask when their garage sales are, or check their websites.
Just gonna leave that there.

Sweet tip.

Don't forget to dive their dumpster while you're there. I've found a double sleeping pad (too crazy big for traveling), shoes with paint to make them unmarketable, a Brunton USB solar charger and other goodies.
