Hello everyone! As titled, I'm in the planning stages of becoming a "misfit traveler". I have a good feeling that it's what I've been looking for in my life and hoping someone here can find some parallels and confirm my suspicion or maybe prevent me from a making a huge mistake haha!
I've always been changing my plans, whether it be living quarters, work, school, hobbies etc. My most vivid memories are when I was transitioning between things, like when I moved to and from the oilfield: living out of my truck along with my dog. It seems to me that anymore than 3 months in the same place and I get a bit unnerved/restless. Have navigated a lot of depression, anxiety and substance abuse. Predominantly anxiety nowadays. I'm veryyy comfortable with being an introvert!
That being said, I have a pretty good background to prepare me for these kind of travels: was a reserve infantryman in the CF, I've hitchhiked Eastern Canada, decent experience camping/canoeing/bushcraft/camp skills and nursing skills to stay healthy. I have a downright sexy set of camping equipment (winter and summer). My dog is a pitbull cross; nearly bulletproof.
As for travel plans, I've been eyeing the chilkoot pass monument to the stampeders (YT) for some time now.
