Very true, Bill. Just goes to show that different sets of gear should be used for different things. Hopping trains, I wouldn't carry a gun unless I was damned careful, but out in the bush I'd sure as hell have one.
I'm no longer constipated thanks to this stuff.Coconut oil is also an antimicrobial. I use it on my 4mo daughter for everythigggg. Thank you for this list! Super helpful.
Fire cooked food is the best! Also, backpack dutch oven and bread: Get a cheap nonstick pan, take off the handle because it's heavy and awkward(get a pot grabber or just a thick bit of leather to grab it with). Find a metal plate or saucer that covers the top of the pot(Thrift stores, army mess kit type stuff..). Now you can set the pot on the some rocks over hot coals, scoop up more coals with the saucer, and put the saucer on top of the pot. I carry a sourdough starter and bake bread anywhere I can make fire, which is pretty much everywhere. If I had to I could live off a five pound bag of flour for a week, which costs about 3 dollars, but I'd probably be pretty sick of bread afterwards....
