Looking to stay in Mexico for a while...

Anybody have any experience staying in mexico for a while? I'd like to find a job and work and maybe work on staying there more permanently. Anybody familiar with that process? Is it as much a pain in the ass as we make it for people coming into the US? Either way, people do find ways to do it here, so there has gotta be a way to do it in other places too.

The easiest way is to marry a Mexican. They grant you permanent residency. Otherwise, look up permanent residency, that's the terminology they use. Aside from that, in the old days people would simply leave the country for a few days then reenter on a new tourist visa. Not sure if that still works.
