So hitching past Arcata on the 101 in north cal we got stuck in Klamath but luckily we had enough money to get a room at Motel Trees, right across the street from the Trees of mystery, with a giant Paul Bunyan statue in front of it.while trying to hitch out the next day we saw across the treet a trail to hidden beach. It was only a half mile walk and then you come to a deserted beach with maybe a family hanging out or something and its beautiful. There's a ton of driftwood laying around to build yourself a house with and you can keep a fire going all Damn day and night. It rained so we used a premade shelter and put our tarp over it. There was a stove too. Stayed there for a couple of days and wasn't bothered once. It was made easy by the fact that there's a gas station/convenient store a half a mile back on the road to get food at. they take ebt so yeah, it's a great spot.
