Earning my way into Israel

For career purposes, I'm considering doing whatever it takes to earn my way into Israel. I know it will not be easy because of the changes in the world, but I have to try.

Does anyone know anything about Israel?

Kinda random that you'd be trying to move there dobt ya think? Id consider looking into it from a more for a humans rights\palestinian liberation perspective. Israel is a hyper militarized settler colonial project that continues to displace people, violate human rights and international law. Reading pieces from jewsish antifascists/antizionists would be a good starting point

This piece is old but still relavant i think What is happening in Palestine? - https://sub.media/video/happening-palestine/

When do you think it would be POSSIBLE to get to west Los Angeles?

Now-ish.
You can still fly domestically fairly easily.
I chatted w my stepmom's brother today, who is a pilot for Delta.
He said his routes haven't been cut at all, but its been mostly cargo and only 10-15 people on planes that should have 100.
I was just rueing the cheap airfare perusing skiplagged the other day.

Mostly just for two reasons: I am curious about the history and culture of Judaism (but don't want to become one myself), and I read that Israel is the leading nation in cyber security, which is related to what I am studying.

But I mean, I'm curious about a lot of religious places. Like Malaysia and India.

But I'll definitely read the hit piece. It's just a bit late right now.

@Wheat2020 Breakfast of champions!
And
Lightening rod!

My friend, I am learning you get an idea in your head and zoom away with it without giving it much thought? Have you been outta the states? Its very feasible, but there are a lot of logistics when it comes to long periods in another country. Have ya given this much thought?

Cant you just start going to Temple every saturday or read up on it?

How are the shawarmas?
I've never known any Israelis.
I have been close with a lot of turkish folks; they seem to be a warm and thoughtful culture.

Yeah, @MFB. I've been told I have a tendency of just coming up with ideas and then fixating on them. I don't know why or what that means.

I do believe that to stay in a country, you've got to make yourself useful and liked somewhere in that country, and I'm all about wanting to be useful and liked.

I guess in that regard, the United States is a very unique and great place in that, I can find ways to stay here and live and survive on my own without having approval or acceptance from anyone. Simply because of the nature of the U.S., and the fact that it's my home country.

But I have thought about traveling to other countries before, and I do know of a Synagogue nearby I want to start going to just to learn more, but, quarantine. Pretty much until May 1st, or so the Tennessee offficials say for now.

Well thanks, @Juan Derlust. I went ahead and watched that video from submedia, and unsurprisingly, Israel is not a nation I would ever want to support. I mean not that I was intending to support ANY government, but just, the culture and issues there, it's not my place.

I really wish I could find that blog form the video, though.

We can pray to the God of the Israelites - I don't know if it'll do any good
while you're waiting you can groove on this though

Ahhhh... yes prayer... I did that a lot as a child... raised by the polish pope and all after all LOL....

As I got older I changed that bit... instead of prayer... i just made it an open invitation...

HEY GOD>>>>... Or JC... or Buddah... or Krishnah... common I'm getting bored lets have a drink and a sit on a nice bench in a PARK...

And I guess thats where I'm at... at the bench part at least.

But i'm not worried...

The year's at the spring
And day's at the morn;
Morning's at seven;
The hill-side's dew-pearled;
The lark's on the wing;
The snail's on the thorn:
God's in his heaven—
All's right with the world![1]
— from Act I: Morning

also that music vid was GROOVY!

Also the jewish diaspora is as complex and varied as any other culture across the totallity of the GLOBE... be that christian muslim or buddhist... I know ... I worked at a cemetery and I met many from many different cultures.

Def this cool Rabbi who was a Cubs fan.

Edit

If all that's too tedious, here's a more lighthearted nonetheless illuminating collection of Yiddish sayings

This will be fun to read. ::drinkingbuddy::

my god doesn't want me to pray,
s/he what me to do drugs and dance.

I don't know though how difficult it is to get into Israel as a permanent resident...

I suppose the earlier suggestions in someones post... is to find someone to bond with and all that... But I hate the idea of doing things premeditated...

I would liek to do some indiana jones like archaeology there... just to see whats up.

Ancient Aliens for life... LOL

I have no idea who you are but I know that I love you

Well don't you know?! He's Odin! I've seen the old Norse god himself hanging around these forums since I first joined! He's a bit of a lightning rod, too!

And yeah, @Odin, I agree. I'm not a fan of having hidden agendas when trying to bond with someone, but, don't a lot of us do a lot of things with hidden agendas? But still, I'll avoid them.

Yea naw I get that.... I mean I don't want to get intoxicated and dance for a GOD to please.... not my idea of freedom.

I suppose even if I am a lower level of existence... I am simply saying my words to any higher being would be as a free man chosen to say.....

Sit with me... and lets talk.

Yea.... I dunno... to be honest Christ and Buddha are the influences in my life as far as my education goes... along with a bit of Taoism and esoteric bits and pieces.

SO...

I am what I am.

I drink and let loose but I have a keen eye illusions and ruse.

and his brother...

@Odin, oh mightiest of Norse Gods,
Right right, the point of my ghey little thought was that my god wants me to do what makes me happy; but nothing to please her/him. Personally, I like drugs and booty shakin'.

What we like and what is good for us is not always the same...

This is debatable; as mostly 'what is good for us' is decided based solely on physical effects without any consideration for the effect they have on one's mental and emotional states and well being.
Cigarettes may be bad for you; but I can say unequivocally that they are good for me. :)
