Dartmoor is a small national park in England. When we say national park it's different to a USA national park. We're a small country, so there are towns, villages, and all sorts going on in national parks, but they are still lush green and beautiful. Dartmoor in particular has Neolithic tombs, Bronze Age stone circles abandoned medieval farmhouses and a prison that dates back to Napoleonic times.

Wild camping is allowed on the moor, pictures are taken from around, but specifically Hound Tor which was part of the inspiration for hound of the baskervilles, the Sherlock Holmes story.

Hi @fruitisbad from a fellow Brit - I'm parked about 3 miles south of Dartmoor near South Brent - drove across the moor to a job @ Okehampton only the other day - set out at 7am thinking it would be quiet and there were cars everywhere (and obviously sheep and ponies), well I suppose it is summer ! are ye staying in Devon or jus' passin' thru ?
