Hey everyone, unfortunately it is my sad duty to let you all know that Brien Sherman passed away last week. The circumstances of his death are currently unknown to me.

Although he retired a little over a year ago, he was a moderator on StP for a few years, and I always enjoyed stopping to visit him in Seattle when I was passing through. Some of you may remember him from the 2015 Jamboree in Slab City. He was always extremely kind and although we disagreed pretty hard on politics, he never let it get in the way of us being friends. He put up countless travelers in his home during his time on StP and afterwards, so I'm sure he will be missed by many.

If you're interested in attending his online memorial on September 13th, please let me know in a PM.

Really awesome dude. This is so sad and so out of the blue. Haven't seen him on here in a while. Met him at the jambo in 2015 he was really nice to me when I wasn't feeling good. Seemed like he had the whole world going for him. This is really sad.

I just got off the zoom wake/memorial his friends and family held for him and he will certainly be missed. His contribution to the first jamboree and its success can not go without notice. It would have been a lot different without the rides he gave and the general chauffeuring that he provided, like talking a bunch of people to the dunes. I still like the wild dichotomy in his playlist from Britney Spears to fear factory when he drove me to the airport after it. He made an impact on many peoples lives and will be missed.

We had some good conversations over the earlier years sometime after I first joined STP.
Remember great advice on cooking and talks about drinking lol... also made me aware of bod modification... which I was maybe peripherally cognizant of but it's always great to see something through another persons eyes.

I can just say I am saddened by this loss and absence. I never met in person but I know a great human being and all my thoughts go to the eternal rest and peace that I imagine BoyofMetal experience now in the great beyond.

Peace.

Always.

....

..

And if you can hear me... I'm sorry it took me this long to post in this thread as well... saw this thread a bit ago just did not know what to say or react.

I'm real shit with human stuff sometimes.

🍻
