What a great read!

As an engineer myself iv always thought about hopping too. We dont really have the train riding culture here in NZ but there are a few that do it and if I see someone hanging round the track when im departing a yard I keep the speed down to give em a change to get on and same when arriving at the destination so they can get off safely and not get trapped in a yard
