What's the cheapest and easiest-to-cancel cell phone plan I can get in the US?

I literally don't want to use the service. I'm just looking to establish residency in a State that requires a "utility bill in my name". They list "cell phone bill" as one of the options, which appears to be the easiest bill to get.

My plan is to just register a cheap plan in my name and use my friend's address. After a week, I'll cancel it.

But my concern is that some of these companies make it very difficult to cancel their plans. So my requirements are:

1. Low cost
2. Easy to cancel

Bonus points for a company that lets me pay with cryptocurrency or cash -- so I don't have to register any payment method that would let them try to charge me after I've cancelled the plan (ie I'd like to avoid credit card, bank transfer, etc).

You can get a cheap prepaid plan (no contract), cancel any time or dont renew and it times out
most carriers have a prepaid plan you can get
in my country it starts at 2€ and goes up to 15€
usually a month at a time (or by units) and you renew them each month
At&T has a prepaid plan you can buy with cryptocurrency also

I was asking about not-prepaid-plans that I can cancel.

Because I think a "cell phone bill" (to establish residency) would necessarily need to be a not-prepaid plan, no?

Or is there a prepaid plan that can also send you a bill to your address by mail?

At&T has a prepaid plan you can buy with cryptocurrency also

You can pay on AT&T through Bitpay, not sure about link all I get are news stories about it, probably an option at the payment option on site
And excuse me for the misunderstanding, getting an AT&T contract and paying with crypto seems like the best choice then. Just check what the contract termination clause is, a fee usually...

mint mobile is a good option. also, you could just buy a cricket phone from walmart. they will send you a bill, but probably only after the first month/payment is made.

but really, if you're trying to establish residency, you could just fill out a fake lease agreement form. literally no one checks to see if they are legit. i've posted about it before if you search the forums.

What are the payment methods accepted by Mint? Is it difficult to cancel after 1 month? Or will they scam me by charging the payment method after I cancel?

@81285 I just contacted AT&T support; they said they do not accept cryptocurrency (only credit and debit cards), and that only their postpaid plans (starting at $61/mo) will send a paper bill in the mail.

i think you're really trying too hard here.

1. google 'lease agreement form'
2. pick an address
3. fill it out
4. have a friend sign as the 'landlord'
5. give it to whoever is asking

it literally takes less than an hour.
