I am going to be heading to Portland on the high line from the east coast within the next few days, and then down the to the LA area to spend the summer with family there, I am hoping I can meet somebody with a boat that would be willing to teach me some basics before I buy my own boat, hopefully by the end of the summer if I can get enough work around LA to make that happen. I would be willing to trade skills, help crew (even though right now I know only what you can really learn in videos without having actually sailed anywhere), help fix things, teach about mushrooms, lockpicking, trainhopping, etc, etc. I am kind of tired of dealing with all the various forms of cops that traveling on the land forces you to deal with even when things are mostly going well. I know that there are equivalents to this for ports, but my hope is that I can make my way down to Mexico eventually and maybe relax a bit. Anyway, if you are coming through LA and stopping around Marina Del Rey, San Pedro or Long Beach on your boat this summer and are open to some sort of trade of skills or goods in exchange for helping me learn, I would be so beyond grateful. Feel free to DM me about this.
