My experience hitchhiking with a folding bicycle

This was an okay method for travel, but it was kinda half assed. While I had the benefit of bungeeing my backpack to my strangely shaped bmx sized bike, I was getting passed by mountain bikes, and played leap frog with joggers as I took smoke breaks. Hitchhiking was awkward because of the bike...

    Utah National Rainbow Gathering

The location has been announced. http://www.welcomehome.org/rainbow/index.html I might go, depending how this weekend goes. Anybody else going? I'm in Washington. If I'm going, I'll post after this weekend. I plan to play lots of guitar and travel around the country this summer.

Washington to Alaska, Alaska to Russia

I'm beginning to plan for a trip that is WAY beyond anything I have ever done. One year from now, I would like to embark on this trip. Everything between now and then will be preparation. I've been studying in school so I can come up with some career options on the road. I've been studying music...

    Conscious Culture Festival: Tonasket, Washington

It's a music festival at the same place as barterfaire. It's happening June 20th-22nd. Tickets are being sold online, or you can get them at the gate. I think it's $50 per person for camping. If you volunteer 8 hours, you can get in free.

Old, junk, dual sport motorcycle for sale in Washington. $400

It's road worthy, but it could use some work. First gear knocks (difficult to fix) but works, 2nd-6th gears are perfect. The chain is loose but can still be tensioned, I can do that. Oil needs changing, I can do that too. Motor mount bolt is busted could be fixed cheap. One fork seal is leaking...

12'x16' tarp, tent stakes, a string, and a walking stick

that's what I recently started using for a tent. I can wrap the tent stakes with the string, fold up the tarp and fasten to pack, and carry walking stick. The walking stick makes a great prop for hitchhiking. When I'm incognito (camping in an orchard), I can set up the tarp wide and short (hot...

Music theory is good for any musician

I typed this up in another thread to give a short lesson to another musician, they found it quite useful, so I figured this could really come in handy on the music forum. Okay, here's some reading material and practice material. This is music theory which means you can apply it to every music...

Charlie, a few people called me Super Subaru

Ha, and now I'm totally sick of driving altogether, glad that nick name never really caught on. Anyways, I'm Charlie. I never officially introduced myself here. I've travelled around a bit, hitchhiking, road tripped in a Subaru. I get called a damn yuppy by a lot by dirty kids, and I get called...
