Busking is no problem at all. The city welcomes it, and it's easy to make quite a bit if you're in the right spot. As for the home bums, never had too much trouble with any, and weekly feeds occur in numerous places. I know of one under the interstate bridge and another in Market Square.

I grew up in Knoxville, so the Smokies have always been home to me. I've visited Elkmont and these homes many times. If I remember correctly, I believe most of them were abandoned in 1992 when their leases expired, and then they were released to the park.

I'm glad the judge felt a little sympathy and only sentenced him to 7 months, most of which he had already served. I bet he will disappear into the woods again someday.
