This zine comic covers why most people get into diving and why is helps defer the wasteful societies that we live in. It also "dives" into the legalities of diving in America, where you should look, what you should look for, what can be salvaged and what can be thrown away, cooking the shit, and...
Good to know you're back in the area!
I think there's a small climb up to it, but otherwise it's a pretty flat ride through San Antonio. Gov't Canyon has tons of sick hiking trails and dinosaur tracks apparently? I've never been, but everyone always recommends it.
Currently, I’m not traveling long term but I’m planning an overnight trip from my house on the Southeast side of SA to government canyon (about 35 miles) on September 25. If anyone is in the area and wants to tag along, y’all are welcome to stay overnight at my house that Friday and we can head...
Siiick! Yeah, having to sell my car and commute by bike is what got me back into riding a bike. It's ultra fun, even when it feels like work.
Hoping to do some motorcycle stuff down the road. Already planning more bike stuff for this year. Thankfully a lot more campsites are opening back up again
It's rare to catch me without a hat of some sort of my noggin. My normal ball cap doesn't fit under my helmet, so naturally I had to buy some bike caps.
Got it here on walmart's website.
45 is the limit on the degrees, but comfort is around 59 F I believe. I can't ever roll it back up to fit in the bag, but stuffing it works pretty well.
Hey welcome, I get it. I've been settled for a lil too long time. That ramblin part of our minds always seems to come back.
If you make your way down to San Antonio after hitting Austin, I'm happy to house ya and show you the best vegan taco spots.
I've been using this couscous for years when camping. If you've got access to hot water, it cooks super quick and makes a lot of food. You can always toss a protein or some veggies with it. I like to something grill an orange on my camp stove and toss it in.
God, I'm glad to be back at it. I've been stagnant for a little too long now.
It's a 2018 Fuji Touring Bike. I think after this model they started using disc brakes.
Can't speak on specific roads per say, but watch out for goat heads. They'll puncture holes in tires left and right.
Here's a write-up on them and what they look like. They are all over the desert over there.
Years ago I used to commute to work by bike in New Mexico. I had to sell my vintage Fuji in order to get some cash to live in my car and eventually move back to Texas. Since then, I've always been infatuated by bike touring, and just never committed my time to it until recently. Thankfully...
A friend took this photo in San Antonio of what is most likely some sort of "love thy neighbor" test/experiment since they don't have any packs? I'm not sure I've seen any sort of hitch hiking monks/people in religious garb before.
Nice! Totally have one of those fake Navajo blankets you get in the southwest that I cut a whole out of for my head. Super warm with my jacket underneath
I attended a workshop for making bread in one of these kinds of ovens in a pueblo in Taos, NM. Would love to use one of these badboys again and learn about building them. Super cool idea.
Glad you found work and a space to dwell! If you ever do feel unsafe tho, get the hell outta there as far as you can. Your safety is much more important than money. Some people will honestly help you out in any way they can if you tell them your situation
Yo I totally got hit by a car once in Santa Fe and left a huge dent in that bitch's car, I was totally fine though. I was the only manage on duty at my store that day and had to open by myself so that's why I didn't stop to report her, I was too nervous about opening the store late.
Hope you...
Okay, in all seriousness

Dang, haven't seen that one around, I'll keep my eye out for it. I don't normally go for fruit stuff, but their 3rd anniversary raspberry foeder is super good. Not sure they still make it, but I had it a month or two ago.
Looooove me some Arrogant Bastard. Very strong and leaves a bitter taste (if you like that) in your mouth for a while.
Artisan Ales also makes some pretty tasty beers and their label illustrations are outta this world.
But if we are talking cheap beer, I definitely vote PBR or a 40 of miller...
Damn, same here. The fact that the press made up some names for supposed members there is bullshit. People always want to blame something other than the kidnapper/molester in situations like this.
Hoping things will die down soon and Black Bear doesn't have to deal with this shit anymore.
Hell yeah! In February, I started my own one of those #challenge things where I force myself to do at least one minicomic a month where each one has to be at least 8-10 pages or more. Turns out, I crank these out way too quickly and have been doing at least two a month, haha. I share a lot of my...
Idk if any of y'all have seen this but FYI just for anyone reading this thread who intends to show up at black bear ranch, it was rumored that the teacher who kidnapped some girl has connections to Black Bear Ranch and the information is wrong. I'm sure you can just google it.
Here's what...
My friend here said it best. If you feel unsafe in anyway, get the hell away from there if possible. Don't be afraid to kinda play with a knife or mace just to show you're not someone who should be fucked with. There will always be opportunities later down the line similar or even better than...
For sure! So if you go to the homepage and scroll down, all of the different discussion sections are listed there. The road dogs section with other people looking for a traveling buddy can be found here: https://squattheplanet.com/road-dogs/
And then you might even want to check out the rides...
Hey friend, welcome!
Definitely try to find a road dog to show you the way and someone you can trust to protect you and you'll do the same for them. Unfortunately, being a female is also a lot harder when you are alone on the streets because girls are targeted more often. We have a whole forum...
This might be a long post, who knows but I'm just spewing out thoughts here for what I should do. Maybe some of you are in the same boat or were at one point.
After my partner and I were done with school in Santa Fe, we traveled around and camped out of my car for a bit, planned to do it...
You have successfully transitioned this vehicle from a soccer mom van to a fucking epic pirate ship just from talking about it. Can't wait to see it converted :)
I'm the same way. I am very content being on my own and never really feel the need to reach out to people to meet up with them again.
But when it comes to people who have died in any sort of way, I can't help but miss them. Maybe because living people I know I have the opportunity to run into...
Haha honestly, I probably realized I wasn't normal when I was in elementary school and every one thought I was a boy and kids started making fun of me for having weird clothes and skateboarding and drawing weird shit all of the time. But thankfully I didn't care and I didn't conform to all of...
These are fucking rad! I've only ever done one looped animation before for a class I took in art school. I wish I had more time and patience to do more animations.
