    Suing Railroad Companies/Railroad Police

In my observations I'm seeing more unsworn and unarmed security type people. Their job is to observe and report. They can ask trespassers to leave but they're not LEOs. They can detain someone with handcuffs if necessary but that's rare.

Alaskan grizzlies ain't nuthin' to fuck with!!

I've had a run in with a bear while I was out on the road. Although it wasn't a grizzly, I consider myself lucky to have escaped without being harmed. You defiantly have to be extra careful if you're in bear country.

Anybody got a CB Radio? I'm kinda confused

I'm more familiar with cb radios in big rigs, but I'll do some research on what you posted. Tbh if I was you I would look into a magnetic antenna that way you can take it off if you have clearance issues and it would save you money since you won't have to buy a mount and all of that. The...

Well first of all what do you intend to use it for? Short distance, long distance, and how clear do you want to be?

    Coming too fast...

How can you live in the moment when you don't slow down to take it all in? No reason to be in a hurry if you don't have anywhere to be. I rather go with the flow and take in the sights instead of hustling, but everyones got their own flow. Do what's best for you.

    Coming too fast...

I feel like people get in a hurry because they think it's now or never. If they don't get a ride, hop out, etc right now that they're just going to be stuck and it's the end of the world. I get that some people need to get places by a deadline or whatever their situation is, but it seems like...

Gun or no gun in Alaskan Wilderness?

I've had a black bear wondered into where we set up camp for the night. He came up to our tent and started clawing on it. We didn't have any bear spray or anything besides pocket knifes to defend ourselves, but basically we just got the feeble position and eventually he ran off. We got super...

On the other side of the glass.

I think a lot of people are scared they will get robbed or killed by hitchhickers. That's what I've always heard from people anyways. Scared of strangers because they might look dirty and crusty. I'm not sure why crust would translate into getting killed but it does apparently.

    need help buying a banjo!

I was given a Rogue "travel" banjo for my birthday last year. It's not the best but it suits my needs very well and it sounds good (at least to me it does). It's not super high end so if you wanted to travel with it there's not much to worry about which is nice. I see them on Craigslist for like...

News & Blogs 5 Dallas Officers gunned down in rally against police violence

I'm going to assume this is directed towards me. I was unaware that the rules of StP stated we had to share an anti-police state of mind to be a member on here. I wasn't defending their actions, I was defending those who are GOOD people outside of their uniforms. Both of my parents were public...

News & Blogs 5 Dallas Officers gunned down in rally against police violence

I'm probably going to catch some hate for this, but I think this attack was just wrong. Not all cops are bad, just like not all homeless people are crazy drunken junkies that cause problems. I'm not saying that I don't agree that the bad cops don't deserve to be "punished", but I don't think...

    Hi from Milwaukee

First of all, WELCOME! For starters the best thing to do is to get a pack together and get out there. You'll learn more by just going out and figuring things out on your own. What works for one person might not work for another when it comes to traveling. Just make sure you check out the pack...

    Inverters

There's a guy on youtube by the name of Cyclecruza that built up a bug out van for his motorcycle and he used I think 4 of these 100w panels that are flat/bendable and stick to the top of the roof. He seems pretty happy with them. Edit: for some reason the amazon link won't show up when I post...
