Hey, Im Timm, some of the STP old timers might remember my username from back 6-7 years ago. I originally joined STP back around 2015? Or 2016? Cant remember, but was with the same user name. Was bit of a immature idiot with a few mental health issues who was lost in the world. Still got some mental health issues, but a little bit more mature and wiser. Still mostly lost.
Remember meeting a american girl from here with the username Koala? Took her for a bit of a drive in my old shitbox suburu to my neck of the woods in Australia at the time, place called Yarra Valley in Victoria. Then drove her back to where she was staying at the time for university or something and called her friend cute... which she didnt like 😂 what can i say, was bit of an idiot at the time. Sorry Koala... Still hopeless with woman 😂 But anyway, I remember that she became a big part of the STP community, wrote a few cool stories of her travels across australia and the US with plenty of pics. Think some of her stories are featured now, been 6 years since ive checked. Only just remade an account and first thing ive done is an intro.
I originally joined STP after seeing Wizehops videos on youtube for the first time, from his first video i saw i was hooked. Shame some of his videos have now had the audio part deleted, there was 1 video i enjoyed that he was talking about the meaning or life or something, but audio has been deleted by youtube. But damn, after those videos i wanted to get over to Canada and the US and ride the rails. Still do. Wizehop, if you are reading this, thankyou for sparking my interest in traveling 😀
Latest youtuber ive been watching is Destination Adventure. Granted he isnt a freight hopper, but a rubber tramper. Does a little sailing on a small boat he tows behind his motorhome and has got a trial motorbike plus an E bike. Most of his videos are in canada, with some in alaska and the US. Think a couple of videos feature mexico as well. Funny guy, love his content. At the moment he is building a old gen 2? Dodge ram dually into a motorhome. He's got an old slide on camper he's installing on the back.
But anyway, bit about me and what ive been upto the last 6 years. I bought a brand new 4x4 this time back in 2020. All under finance of course. And Yes Covid became a very real thing a few weeks later. Was fortunate to keep my job and my new 4x4. Worked my arse off and still working my arse off to pay for it. Spent a ton of money on it kitting it up for travel.
I finaly got onto a cattle station in the Northern Territory january last year. Place called Avago Station bout an hours drive west on dirt roads from a tiny little place called Larrimah. Weird story to Larrimah, but an old man called Paddy Moriaty went missing back 2017 after leaving the pink panther pub one night. Theres speculation he was murdered by his neighbour over the road. Theres even a documentry on it on youtube. Paddy and his dog have never been found.
I took "Avago" to heart (as in have a go) but unfortunately i didnt vibe with the owner and he ending up sacking me. So i ended up in Darwin with nothing. No job, no place to live and car payments draining my bank account.
Fortunately found a job the very same day i arrived in Darwin which i started the next day, being a groundy for an arborist. Took a bit longer to find a good place to live, but after a rough start in a place through a real estate agent (which didnt work out, fuck real estate agents, i will never deal with them again) i was able to rent a downstairs bedroom from a lesbian lady who was LGBT+ friendly. Which suited me fine as i like to cross dress a bit. She and her adult daughter were fine with it, but took me a while to stop being shy about my feminine side. We've since become friends and i went to the pride march with them last year.
Im now currently back in victoria staying at my mothers place (which we arent getting on well together at the moment, she seems to find a problem with everything i do amongst other things) working a job that isnt giving me enough hours trying to save money so i can drive back to darwin. Over Victoria, but was over the wet season in Darwin bit over a month ago, hence why i came down 😂 As well as see friends and family, but so far family hasnt been great towards me and i havent seen much of my friends
I'll post a few pics of my travels from Melbourne to the cattle station, Darwin, then back to melbourne via the great ocean road.
But anyway, I want to rejoin, start fresh and not be the person i was 6 years ago.
