Okay so like I'm about to be homeless so I figure I might as well make the most of it. I'm gonna take what little money I have and book it. Problem is I'm not entirely sure what I should spend on and what I'll be okay with out. I already have a shitty tent and sleeping bag and a duffel bag I can use, I'm thinking lugging that duffel bag around is gonna suck cock though. Plus it might be dangerous? Opinions/ suggestions anyone?

like the green military pickle bags? i have carried one, and it did indeed suck cock, mostly because they dont have any kind of frame and will end up killing your back after a while. make sure you tie knots in the end of the shoulder straps, they tend to loosen on thier own and come undone.

Yep I'm talking about the pickles, I'm just debating on whether I should spend money on shoes or a bag, as I'm definitely pressed for cash.

Footwear is pretty important....maybe get decent shoes/boots, and get a second hand backpack at some shity thrift store for now. Dufflebags are horrible

If you can, check out second hand clothing stores or even kijiji. People are always getting rid of decent and barely worn shoes. I found a pair of leather docs (the hiking shoe style) at a thrift store near me for $8. It's all about luck, but it's worth a try :)

Maybe look around at local homeless closets and thrift stores. I've found that going thru a few towns for a few weeks is cool with a weighty piece of impractical luggage bit it wears... usually in the time it takes to get rid of it I find something with straps that is more comfortable

Even with my hiking backpack, my shoulders are killing me afer a 10+miles walk. Cant imagine doing the same with a duffel bag. But like I always say, instead of spending your money blindly, why don't you wait until the need arises before buying stuff? That way, you'll be able to make the difference between what you need and what you want. And you'll learn to find tricks to work your way around things instead of buying gizmos

Being uncomfortable is part of life. I am not a smart man, in many respects. Not like I carry a bindle on a stick. But a lotta time it's just a lighter, a knife, and a towel. And a Sharpie, iffen in town.

Winter is different, of course. Not freezing to death is cool.

ALICE packs are always a good choice.I just scored one.Try the Goodwill bins.I have gotten some good scores from there.Might also want to cut up toward Tampa.CENTCOM is located there, usually good pickings at thrift stores near bases.Least in my experience.
