White suburban motherfuckers live in a cultural void. They wind up vampires on whoever they see who has an ounce of soul, whether it's urban blacks, or punks, or hoboes. They make a copy of a copy of a copy of some image they see distantly because they don't know how to create. You'll note that all the neighborhoods crusty anarchist punks squatted in 20 years ago are now "artist" hotspots. Same with clothes and PBR and maybe even traveling itself.

"..Disneyland exists in order to hide that it is the "real" country, all of "real" America that is Disneyland (a bit like prisons are there to hide that it is the social in its entirety, in its banal omnipresence, that is carceral). Disneyland is presented as imaginary in order to make us believe that the rest is real, whereas all of Los Angeles and the America that surrounds it are no longer real, but belong to the hyperreal order and to the order of simulation. It is no longer a question of a false representation of reality (ideology) but of concealing the fact that the real is no longer real, and thus of saving the reality principle.
...
We will live in this world, which for us has all the disquieting strangeness of the desert and of the simulacrum, with all the veracity of living phantoms, of wandering and simulating animals that capital, that the death of capital has made of us—because the desert of cities is equal to the desert of sand—the jungle of signs is equal to that of the forests—the vertigo of simulacra is equal to that of nature—only the vertiginous seduction of a dying system remains, in which work buries work, in which value buries value—leaving a virgin, sacred space without pathways, continuous as Bataille wished it, where only the wind lifts the sand, where only the wind watches over the sand."

Simulacra and Simulation by Baudrillard

Simulation.. just another artifact from the substratum of our culture, which is capitalism, and which implicitly alienates everything meaningful until it is reduced to the banality of money. I don't believe in the existence of a soul, personally, but in that way that it is used as a figure of speech nothing could come closer in my mind to soullessness than the product of consciousness produced therein.. the mentality of these people on the whole, which have been collectively debased.

It's ok to say Hipster when you're talking about Hipsters.

You are talking about Hipsters, aren't you?

It might just be a skater thing. Recently i have seen a shit ton of skaters wearing bibs. I think its just mainstream "skate culture" biting the style of all the hesh dudes. Anyways im not suprised, i know carhartt has done a whole skating line a coupple years back.... It just weird that the whole thing is catching on now.

What are your thoughts on Inline skates combined with spandex racing attire? It's so retro it might be hip.
