Err... I mean, Hello. :)

So, here's this introduction thing...

Well, yeah.

>.>'

Awkward enough for you, yet? ;D

Okay, so, I was told about this place by someone recently. I had made an announcement elsewhere about my plans to leave my current location soon and that I was open to suggestions of places I should visit. After providing a location or two, they mentioned this place, from which I can now see I will get a lot of useful information and friendships. So, here I am, and, there you are.

Myself, I am an intellectual, in a way. Thinking has always been something I do a great deal of, sometimes too much of. I enjoy just about all topics and subjects of discussion and I love to have long talks on just about anything, especially if we're sitting near a fire. ;D I love languages, hence the Russian in the Subject. :p I just need enough time and focus to sit down and finish one whole one before I go all ADHD and oh, look, German...

Also, I love to read, and love to collect books, which is obviously a habit I will have to try and deal with not being to indulge while I am on my Walk About. I love listening to music. My musical growth has been as such, so called 'Malt Shop' oldies, Rap and R&B, Rock (all kinds and variations), a little Pop, Classical, and then the list gets progressively more difficult to document. I get into periods where I sort of become obsessed with a certain kind of music, which, recently has been DubStep, House, Hardstyle, etc. I am still learning the differences between all the different types, so, don't get all upset if I make a faux pas on the subject. Anyway, that is probably enough about me... I really do not like talking about myself, as it seems to me like I am bragging or something. So, yes. More stuff...

I have basically been living on couches and out of my car for the past six months or so. I have been working, for the most part, but I have never been able to put myself to the point of getting a place. I have been back on the West Coast for the past five months or so, and, I really just feel that I need to get up and go again.

As of right now, I am getting my business together (i.e. renewing identification, paying my last bills), and prepping to get on the road. I am getting all of my belongings organized and sorted through for what I am going to take with me, as well as attempting to get an idea of how I will get by. The fact that I have my car keeps giving me a worry, as I know there will be a lot of complications because of it (parking, gas, etc.), all of which I am trying to find answers for.

So, I really just wanted to say hi to everyone.

Please, feel free to talk to me about stuff. Lots of stuff. ;P

Though, if it has to do with getting by on the road, it will be all the more appreciated. ;)

PS. I think that little introduction will be nice for my little personal details area. ;D Yay for killing two birds with one make-shift-magic-energy-rock.

Why is the rock make-shift, magic, or made of energy, you ask?

Let me answer your question with another question.

Why are you questioning magic? It's called 'magic' for a reason...

Alright. I'm done, now. For real. :p

Ahh an Intelectual; its been awhile since Ive heard ones introduction & or self description as such. I hope you have evolved away from Dubstep since it is a souless boring form of electronica popular only with college freshman who cant dance. Have you heard of the band Lenningrad? Russian drunken ska band, i like em.

I roughly translated with google. I too like foreign languages but lets please keep correspondence in english. It could be perceived as pretentious.. Welcome to the site? I see you are on the left coast is that where you hail from?

Welcome! I've always wanted to learn Russian or German. ICH BIN UBERMENSCH!

But yeah I think having a car would totally have its pros and cons, maybe best for you to sit down with a clear head and rationally list out the pros and cons for you, in regards to your own personal situation and basically..what you are really looking for in your travels.

Anyway good luck in your adventures!

having a car isn't too bad. its usually pretty easy to sniff out the spots where you can park and not be hassled. Gas is another a hurdle but not really a big one, gas canning is pretty effective. anywho, welcome to the site! glad to have a linguist on board, i only speak english and bad english. have a degree of respect for people who can speak mulitple languages.

Haha. I do still have a taste for it, actually. I had a stint of making some techno with a cousin of mine back in high school, as well as having our own little online radio station.

Now, I had not heard of that band, before now. I will continue to check them out.

Thank you for the welcomes, and yeah, I guess we should keep it in English.

I am from the West Coast, yes. I was born in San Diego, and I have been in Washington for the majority of my life. I have done a bit of traveling, though, inside and outside of the country.

Yeah. I have sort of started doing the whole Pro's and Con's thing in my head a little, already. The reasons I would keep the car are that it would allow me to take a few more items with me without worrying about having to carry it all and it would give me shelter for the most part. The reasons I would not keep it are that it requires that little thing called gas, and worrying about finding a safe place to park out of where I would be bothered by the cops, that, and it technically requires to have insurance on it... >.> Which I have, right now, but would be costly to try and keep while on the road.

And, as for the languages, I have gone through Spanish, French, Latin, Greek, Persian, Arabic, German, Tagalog, Japanese, Italian, and Russian. There may be a few more, but my memory is really bad. Yet, like I said, I tend to get distracted easily, so, for most of these, I have only worked on them for a week or so until I saw something 'shiny', causing me to really only recall a few phrases or words from some of these, and, if I am lucky, being able to read and pronounce the language.

If you by chance have any friends in New Hampshire, you could register it there, they do not require auto insurance to register vehicles in that state. You will have to have an actual address there & know the person well enough to use there address to change your license & register yourcar there. Never any problems while travelin since the other 47 states honor the laws of NH being your home state. Depending on what type of wheels you have & if they are paid for I would keep em or trade that vehicle for a diesel van,bus or camper. See my responses to Cheap Rv post. Good luck

Yeah. I saw the New Hampshire thing in a thread here. Unfortunately, I do not know anyone from there. :/

I have a 2000 Ford Escort, and it is paid for.

I will look into the thread you mentioned.

I read the post about RV's in the thread, though, I have been leaning more to the side of selling my car for the extra cash and added flexibility in travels.

As of right now, I am putting together the list of supplies that I will be needing and comparing that with what I already have.

I am going through the many pages in the thread for Gear, though, if anyone would like to make suggestions, it would be much appreciated.

Thank you all for your support. :)

less is more. i use as much high tech leftovers from the us military as i can. usually try to stay with current issue surplus opposed to antiquated technology & materials like alice packs. i use a goretexbivy sack combined with a poncho liner or lightweight patrol sleeping bag for shelter. simple light durable & waterproof, just get in like a sleeping bag & you are out of the elements. try settiing up a tent on a train, lol.

Yeah. I definitely want as little as possible while obviously not cutting out some vital piece, which is part of why I am not leaving right away. I want to make sure when I go, I do it right and don't screw myself over.

I like the bivy idea, though I do already have a tent. I will keep it in mind, though.
