London for now
So, I joined this site because I want to make friends. I live in London, and have been here for 3 years. I would like to meet some like minded people, and really don't know where to start. I don't have a job, and rarely go to school, and have become rather apathetic about going out to make friends. I'm not very sociable, but I would like to find a few decent people who share my interests.
I am originally from California and moved to London for university. I am not an academic but I love learning and pursuing knowledge. I hate university, and am really just hanging on for one more year til I finish.
What is idealistic for me is to travel long-term. I've just come back from Central America and met some very inspirational travelers and artisans. I've hitch-hiked around Europe quite a bit, but I'd really like to take my time going from place to place.
I think that I have a broad taste in music, at the moment reveling in gypsy folk and Spanish flamenco. I like to make stuff, music, clothes, jewelery or whatever; even if I'm not good at it.
I don't know what else to say, I'm not fond of having to sum myself up. But fuck it.
Anyhow, anyone in the London area know of any squatting communities, I'd like to be a part of them.

awesome man, nice to see some people here from across the pond. ive only been to london once, and never ended up meeting with the contact i had there for a squat. i heard camden is a good area for squats. i guess i would just try asking around the punk kids here, or try http://www.squatter.org.uk ... i used to have a lot of good contacts on myspace, but all the good myspace groups seem to have disappeared, along with my contacts. i would also try asking in the "[ame="http://squattheplanet.com/display.php?f=101"]international[/ame]" section, as you have a better chance of someone from your area seeing your post.

but anyways, welcome to the site!
