I just thru hiked the AT. I started on March 13th on the approach trail, in Georgia and finished on October 2nd on Mt Katahdin in Maine. 2,189 miles hiked in 6.5 months. I lived on a religious communal organic farm for 26 days in Hillsboro, Virginia to take a break from hiking after mile 1,000. This certainly was the best 6.5 months of my life. The hiking community is a great thing to be apart of. I hiked in temps all the way down to 7 degrees, and all the way up to 105. More or less, the AT is quite an accessible trail to those who don't have any backcountry experience. Towns are usually about 4 or 5 days apart if you are hiking 15ish miles a day.[

Awesome! how long did it take you to "get your stride" and fall into a rhythm of hike/camp/rest and start to consistently cover the miles? 1 week, 2? also what type of tent and sleep gear did you use?

I mean the more I walked, the stronger I felt, more or less. I started averaging 15 after about 400 miles, a little after a month. I used a mountain alps lynx 1. An 80$ one person tent. It was 3 pounds and it kept me dry in all conditions. I used a z lite thermarest. I used a 50 degree sleeping bag, I forget the brand ill come back later and update and a sea to sea 25+ liner. My whole set up weighted somewhere around 35-42 pounds fully loaded

Great pics! I've been wanting to do the PCT forever and a day now. One of these days I may just do it. Maybe I'll see you on the trail!

Thanks for sharing!
