Hi everyone, 43 yo male here, and it seems I'm about to be afforded the opportunity to finally do what Ive felt i oughta for some time now. Short backstory, I'm from Alabama, been bouncing around in ambiguous frustration for years, couch surfing and the like, essentially remaining with the familiar, and being homeless in a little ole town like Tuscumbia is....challenging. I won't attempt a whole psychological dissection, just suffice to say that im uncomfortable in life and have been for a while. So I wound up in Costa Mesa, CA, but in about ten days I'm faced with either A) back to Alabama or B) striking out on my own with nothing but my guitar, my grub stubs and a bicycle. I'm in the process of acquiring a bicycle kiddie -cart for my stuff and guitar, and I'm choosing B. I've been playing for about 30 years, mainly classic rock, folk, OLD country, and a whole lotta 90's stuff, plus my own jams I've come up w through the years. I just wanna formally introduce myself to the folks here on this awesome site, and I'd love advice on where I may have the most luck busking, things I may not think of before striking out on the road, really any advice. I do enjoy head changes, no real motive throwing that out there, just rather be transparent and open about what I know of myself. Oh, and I was giving serious consideration to Slab City as an initial destination, but as I say, guidance from those who know more than I is welcomed with gratitude. Thank you all, glory to Glorzo.
