Well, the goal is to leave within the the next few weeks. Haven't decided yet if I will begin the journey on mountain bike and then hiking and hitching... several factors still to consider.
Anyways, my hope is to make it to either NM or AZ and then begin a slow journey north. I am looking more at wilderness living rather than urban. Growing up in "sportsmans paradise" Louisiana I have the advantage of growing up hunting and fishing and camping, but lack the "on-the-road" knowledge I believe I will need. And that is how I came across this forum. Any advice and info will be greatly appreciated as well as places to avoid...
