Roll of toilet paper in a coffee can, pour in a bottle of rubbing alcohol/denatured alcohol, what have you,,but becareful, its hard to see burning alcohol in the light, and carbon dioxide will put ya to sleep, forever.
This is a awful idea please do not use this method to keep warm. Yer wasting shit tickets. Denatured alcohol works just as well without toilet paper.
Dunno, but it is combustible. Use maybe several cotton wicks and burn like a lamp, won't burn as easily as alcohol, but should do the trick. Some alcohol or lighter fluid should bring down the ignition point. Don't get hurt (er...Be Safe!)Sounds useful. How warm does it get?
And how do ignite grease/oil? I thought it had a much higher ignition point then say, alcohol
For a cotton wick would a rolled up rag or a chunk of cotton t-shirt be enough?Dunno, but it is combustible. I'm not sure, might generate more light than heat. I was thinking of several short wicks (cotton rope by the foot at a hardware store). May have to experiment with ratios/thickness to get it right. For a cotton wick would a rolled up rag or a chunk of cotton t-shirt be enough?
