Hello!
Made an account to hopefully be able to use this site as a resource for info and tips in the future. I'm 21 and made it a goal of mine to volunteer/work in every state in the US (I'm at about 12 as of right now). I'm dirt poor but fortunately, if you work for free, you usually get a place to stay and a warm meal to eat. It keeps me alive and I'm able to work towards my goal. As I said, moneys tight so I have to turn to hitchhiking sometimes. I'm trying to live out my hobo dreams as a wandering worker and would appreciate any tips or offers you may have. Thanks for having me!

your incredibly young i recommend the conservation corps in fortuna California i worked there when i was your age building trails i believe the pay is 1200 a month plus free housing and meals message me to know more some states arent as good for hitchiking like cali for example so i reccomend downloaded craigslist and doing ride share the road can be extremely dangerous for a male traveling alone hitchiking so i highly recommend you get a good partner like a dog. i did it since i was 15 up till 23 a friend always helps as well but i wouldnt trust anybody offering you a job i got ran out of my last farm job out of nowhere and it left me in a very dangerous position with a job in the ccc you can travel get friends to travel with and devolop a part time carrer to help you in your travels either in culinary trail building salmon restoration and even fire fighting i reccomend trail building i can send recommendations as well having worked with them and the bctp i wish you the best of fortune and be careful when traveling always avoid racist areas and states hitchiking its another problem ive run across with a job like that you can get a drivers license and a car in a matter of months.

something else id like to state is that the woofing programs is also an amazing place to find temporary work but you have to pay for membership the ccc will actually buy you a bus ticket and the fortuna center is based out of the beautiful redwood Forrest and the eel river. heres a link helped me out a lot at your age
