Hello All!
Been lurking on the site for a while, now hoping to get some hitching tips.
Me and some friends are visiting Montenegro and Albania next week, heading up into the mountains and then exploring around Tirana a bit. The plan is to fly into Podgorica, and then try and hitchhike up to Theth to start a bit of hiking before hitchhiking further South towards Tirana. Was hoping for some advice by anyone familiar with the Balkans.
I know Albania is notoriously good for hitchhiking, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience for hitchhiking this time of year? I don't think getting out of Podgorica and over the Albanian border will be an issue, but heading up north into the mountains is less busy I imagine and something I'm less confident on. Are the more touristy areas towards the Peak of the Balkans less driven on this time of year?
Any experience or Advice is greatly appreciated.
Have a good one and hang loose!
