good starting point?

wanted nothing but to travel for last 5 years, but never knew where to start. i have many female past traveler/trainhopper friends, but their traveling days are behind them, they are focused on "putting down roots" now, so that's a nonstarter. its probably too much to ask, but how the fuck do i get started? i have been waiting around for an "in" into it, but it doesnt look like its going to come around, so posting here seems like my best stab at it.

i was thinking texas for starters, seems like a cool place, good weather in winter, and trying to catch up to someone i lost. but on to the east coast when its warmer.

Not trying be a smart ass but, literally just pack up and go and bring only what you need. Get an idea of where you want to be and find a way to get there. Wouldn't recommend messing with trains if you don't know what you're doing. The hardest part is starting out in my opinion.

That's pretty much it. you just have to stop waiting for this or that and get out there.
(Assuming you're confident in your ability to camp and survive. If not, work on that first)

You can check the road dog section if you don't want to travel alone and are having trouble finding someone . Perhaps someone has the same general goals or direction in mind.

I'm sure that topic has been covered already if you'll just use the search feature. It's going to depend a lot on how you're planning to travel and to where. How will you be getting food? Water? Shelter? Do you have a skill or art that you can use along the way?

Being likeable has probably done more for me than anything else. No matter where you go or how you're travelling, most people aren't going to let you die if they like you.
