Hello all. Just putting this out there incase anyone else is nearby or has info …

Been in Slovenia for the last few weeks, heading towards the Croatian coast and then over to Bosnia. Don’t know anyone in the region but wondering if any good info for traveling ! Will be hitch hiking. My partner & I are from the States. Have met some cool folks around Ljubljana but no connections in Zagreb or other places yet. Any active squats in either Croatia / B&H ?? Shows ? Thanks

I spent this past spring in Croatia. Didn’t have trouble hitching. People were so kind and curious in all the small coastal towns. Strangers brought me weed and little cappuccinos and even invited me over for breakfast once when they saw me sleeping in parks. Locals were less welcoming in the bigger cities / tourist destinations but easy to meet other travelers. Also spent some time on the islands. Vis is beautiful (ferry from Split) and has lots of empty warehouse / abandoned military complexes to stay in, some still even have operating wells nearby. Plitvice and other nat’l park waterfall / lake areas are remote and can be overcrowded during the day but poor security so if you have camping gear you can sleep in the caves or up in the hills.
