Old traveling pal of mine has took off again from Jacksonville. Planning on going to Alaska. Has gotten to santa Cruz and is still going. All on bike. You can check him out on ye ol' upube and see what the dude's been up to, and if your feeling super undicklike, you can subscribe. I guess if he gets enough followers he gets like 50 cents or some shit.

@wISDOMiZdUm DOOOOOoooooo have him check in on this stuff. We do have an active bicycling community here and as well on facebook by several members. but here is one guy - kuba who owns this fb https://www.facebook.com/groups/131775507445590/ "DIY Bicycles for Dirtbag Lifestyles" Kuba was frustrated with a less than organized bicycling travelers group and so he did it. Pretty cool group that is well frequented. Plus is linking to bicycle help (shops etc) I believe.

but yeah - point your friend toward our bicycling forum and check out the DIY facebook group - lots of people out there traveling and we'd love to hear and see what they are doing. :)

Holy shit, sure as fuck after 6+ hours of straight bike polo.
I am now on the road!! I spent money on the luxury of a nice ticket to Old Town San Diego, from there I will visit my godmother in East County and then hitchhike up the coast to the East Bay to visit friends and family. It’ll be in time for my 19th birthday!
The feeling of finally doing this is fucking amazing!

OK, so, my pack is a military duffle bag that is somewhat old, and I'm not sure it will hold up to traveling across the entire continent; so I'm open to suggestions on the best (?) replacement to buy....Thoughts?
