Hey, I am currently in Providence, RI and looking to hop freight to California next summer. I'm fairly new to this. I've hitched cross country before, but never hopped a freight train. I'm looking for any and all help about where to/how to in this area. I'm not very good at introductions, but I've had this longing to leave where I am for a number of reasons and I think I can only make it one more winter. I don't want to come off as a sob story, I'm not suicidal, I just don't think I can be happy here for another year without forcing myself to be. I have friends in West Virginia, St. Louis, New Orleans, Texas and San Francisco I can stay with so I was hoping to be able to hit these spots along the way. I have no time frame, I just don't know what train goes where and where to catch them.
