    Seems kinda odd.

It's risky with having a fire if you don't take the proper precautions unless it's accidental. My way is to clean an area, dig a shallow pit, line the pit with rocks then build up and start the fire. Old boy scout knowledge comes in handy. Of course keeping the pack shovel or a jug of water...

    Don't know what to do

So my bus ticket is purchased, bags are packed, my plans set, but my step-father is currently in the Little Rock VA hospital close to death. Stage 4 Hepatic Carcinoma, also metastatic so the cancer has spread to his lungs and stomach. Kidneys failing and belly distended due to infection. Really...

    Hacking Greyhound

Most of the time the driver does a quick glance over the ticket to where you're going, and puts it with the rest. But of course if you ever do get caught, the biggest worry you will have is a forgery charge however very small chance of that happening unless they decide to scan the barcode.

Being a Female Alone on the Road Comes With Constant Harassment

The last time I was in Los Angeles a few years ago, I witnessed a woman being assaulted. Grabbed the guy threw him off, and gave her support until EMT's could arrive, however I was also temporarily arrested because of it, because in a bit of anger I gave the guy a beating. It's a rough world...

    Why should you travel?

    Boot rot....

Sandals are great, but work best if you're switching from say a well ventilated shoe. I've gone from wearing boots to sandals, the boots were not well ventilated, so my feet had issues with cracking skin due to drying out with having more air to them, so if you do have an issue like that I...

    Boot rot....

Also if you want to keep the athletes foot away I recommend using baking powder put a good amount in each shoe and move it around to get everywhere, toss them into a bag, wake up the next morning and dump the powder out. Should smell fresh again and will absorb a bit of moisture. EDIT: Not true...

    Boot rot....

Best suggestion I have to offer is to soak your feet in a epsom salt bath, it will help heal your feet as well as killing off the athletes foot fungal infection. You can also use Betadine which can be found OTC

    Has anyone noticed....

Not sure about that, but one could say the birds are cannibals. Last time I was in L.A., several times I witnessed pigeons going at it on a piece of chicken.

    Santa Monica/Venice, CA

Sorry to be posting on a old topic, but I still remember a couple of years ago when I was staying in the Venice area for a little while, I would sleep on one of the grassy areas next to the beach during the day and rest at 3rd and Rose at night. Really peaceful street folk the last time I was...

    John from AR

Hey guys, name is John of course and I've done quite a bit of travelling, hitchhiking, haven't hopped a train yet, possibly one thing I'm still a bit scared of doing. I've been on the street in Vegas and Los Angeles, L.A. possibly one of my favorite places, thinking of going back sometime. When...
