    Tips on hitching?

https://squattheplanet.com/threads/hitchhiking-megathread.37046/ Might want to start with the pinned thread right at the top you posted this thread in. Since you must have had trouble finding it, I linked it in this post.

Coolest groundscore, kickdown, item you’ve gotten for free/trade?

The GI Joes I found at the park when I was little - they were friggin cool and should count, fight me. Haha 🤣 The day I found a $20 dollar bill literally flapping in the breeze in the grass on a day I needed it most. It paid for dinner and a beer. Today I found a Manfrotto tripod with a pistol...

Question What to take with you when running away

So I'm a little confused...you made topics asking about sex work at Slab City... yet you're apparently "running away from home" just wondering why someone who is of legal age needs to "run away" instead of just simply "leaving home"?

    Question Cheyenne WY?

If you catch out of Denver no one says you can't switch directions or railroads in another siding town or c-c point to catch a train to where you want to go.
  7. Joey Garbanzo

    Question Cheyenne WY?

Not sure what you mean by "better trains", better than what? Union Pacific and BNSF both have yards in the Denver area. If you're just looking to go "somewhere warm" they should be able to get you started in the right direction...are you trying to go somewhere specific? But you can hitch hike...

It’s not the size of the plane but how well it flies

I don't know if anything would actually come of it but is there a customer line or something you'd be able to call or email to file some kind of formal complaint for being put through public embarassment instead of being taken to a private area to conduct the search/pat down? Sorry that...

    Bum Flap

I want to make a leather one so it holds up better, been wearing out the britches from sitting around. My problem is I need to go get a carpenters framing square to be able to cut shit straight. My eyes ain't what they used to be and I can't eyeball a straight line. Might see if I can get...

Fixing a ripped crotch in your pants

If you sewed the crotch at all like the sewing on your vest/hat in your butt-flap thread then I say you should work on your technique. Thread the floss through the needle double back and tie the ends together to make a loop of floss with a knot in one end and the needle at the other. Tighten...

Question Crossing from us to canada

If you're not a citizen life here will be significantly harder. Background checks are part of citizenship so you'd most likely be flagged right away. Depending on what your warrants are for, a deportation may result in you being handed over and held by US customs until they can get you back for...

Question Crossing from us to canada

No one is going to just write out that kind of information on a publically viewable forum such as this. I reccomend crossing legally.

    Question What's your dream?

To find a partner that actually makes me feel like I have value, like I matter, someone that makes me feel understood, someone I can just hang out with and call my best friend. Shit's falling apart around me but I just want to find someone to love and to be loved by. Someone that has my back...

Is white people stretching their ears cultural appropriation?

I have dreads too and just wanted to mention, the reason behind the rasta wearing of locks. It comes from the biblical character Samson who was an isrealite and who's parents took a nazarite vow on his behalf. He is said to have had seven locks on his head which the rastas believe to be the...

Are tires cheaper depending in what region you get them replaced?

Depending on how low "pretty low" is you may want to get them replaced before setting out. I'd personally go for the small "mom and pop" tire places instead of the big chain places. They're usually more likely to wheel and deal with you and can sometimes offer you a used set in good shape for...

Website Updates I need your input on StP's upcoming restructuring plans!

This might be a dumb question but is that exactly how the forum would look? Kinda digging the minimalist format upfront and then having the subcategories from there. It looks good to me so far. I agree with @marymemarryme

Thanks for the clarification, this makes it a lot clearer as to the situation. Street Cred - Homeless-name name dropping

If pawning a bike for $20 also makes their lives better who are you to judge? Hand out the damn bikes. I feel like you're taking offense to the streetname thing for no reason. Some people may be wanted, may be running from abuse, dealing with mental health issues, etc... there are a lot of...

Best boots for walk long distances

If that's what ya got or what you have access to then lace them up and get going. Replace them when they get too worn out. Rinse and repeat. I usually wear whatever work boots I can get my hands on. But I wouldn't want to be wearing jungle boots in New York winters...or any real snow for that...

Can I use a summer sleeping bag for winter ❄️

The temperature ratings on sleeping bags don't mean "snug as a bug" while sleeping in your undies at that temperature. It means you'll be alive, miserable but alive. What I'm getting at is that even with a cold weather bag you will still need to be bundled up yourself depending on how cold the...
