Ah damn. Can you do stand by? My friend got cancelled, but got a standby flight within 24hrs a couple wks ago. Thatwas Frontier tho. Also, American used to have deals with other airlines to find an open seat for customers going to the same destination.

Checked out Salmon la sac or whatever it's called again today. It's day use or pay camp mostly. The Kachess Lake spot next to where I'm camped (pretty much the first iOverlander spot) is spacious AF. It has an abandoned tent I've been rearranging a bit daily to look occupied.

Advice for rubber tramping with no AC

I was just thinking about doing the fan thing in my G20 yesterday while waiting for stain to dry on my countertop. You've added another option to think about versus just plugging in a regular fan.

I saw 108º on consecutive days in, I feel like it was late April, but maybe early May last year. It's a dry heat tho. 😅

    Traction Boards

Now that I'm rocking a RWD '93 G20 and have some monies, I'm thinking of investing in some decent traction boards that will last. Can anyone suggest a good set?

    Alright, so the Slabs?

Just an update...Pirates run the Internet Cafe since last season. It's fine in the daytime, but it can loud at night. Also it's right next to the Red Rum Room (formerly Katamari 2.0 last season) and that is a bar that can get loud.

    Alright, so the Slabs?

Searching for that info here is needle/haystack shit. As someone that's using Slabs for my homebase for a 3rd straight season, here is some of what I know... There's always the possibility of a rando dog. The local dogs that do roam free are pretty chill so far this season. Sometimes travelers...

supplies not to forget for van living

Expanding on @TheDesertMouse 's post with my exoerience the past couple years... Agree with the shovel, jack, quart of oil, and lugnut socket advice 100%. I don't carry the other liquids (antifreeze, etc due to space limitations and stores being everywhere). I carried a scissor jack, hate them...

Best place to go during Covid?

Depends on so many factors. Are you more into urban or rural. Take temps and seasons into account. Etc. Think about variables of what you need and/or want to feel a basic level of comfortable. Dig thru the forums. You'll find some nuggets of wisdom.

What's the best van for offroading? Needs to fit a bed

I put my FWD Dodge Grand Caravan through some rough roads and trails. I love when I'm camped at some "4x4 Recommended" spot and rando dude comes thru with their expensive rig with all the bells and whistles thinking they're badass. Then they see my soccer mom van...the looks I get are...

How has life on the road been since Covid 19?

I can attest to what @starpurple said. Just going from SoCal to NorCal was a big change in how freely people move about, masks, etc. There were fewer masks in Portland and more people in parks. The further east I go, the less it's obvious there's a pandemic. Just drove from the Boise area to...

What to look for when buying an RV?

Don't know much about RVs, but I do know about Iowa and vehicles from the Midwest. Pay attention to rust damage underneath from winter's salted roads. RVs are probably less likely to have it, but my van (bought it in western IA) was a daily driver and has a lot of rust.

How has life on the road been since Covid 19?

Rubbertramping up the 1 and 101 mostly this week. It took all of 5 mins to drive thru downtown L.A. on the 101. Took the 1 up through SF and across the Golden Gate bridge. Barely any traffic. The 101 north of the Bay Area into Santa Rosa during "rush hour" was smooth sailing when it should have...

Lena Agustina - Banned During the Act of Registering? LOL

Looking for some old friends from Slab City

I don't think Medicine Camp was a thing this season. For sure not in the same place. I remember a couple faces (I suck at names) from Medicine Camp from last year and didn't seen those particular folks, but doesn't mean they weren't here. Most of the winter I just used Slabs as a home base...

What are some of the positives you've seen since Covid19 hit?

I think Iowa figured out I'm not there because my EBT didn't work last night (or today elsewhere) when I was getting energy drinks for the road dawg and myself while staring down a long drive in the dark to find BLM land. The cashier said don't worry about it, she'd pay for it herself. That...
